Job summary

Pelican Rouge Coffee Roasters is seeking an experienced Planning Team Leader to drive demand forecasting and production scheduling at our Netherlands roasting facility. You will serve as the bridge between Sales, Procurement, Operations, Logistics and Client Experience, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery for customers.

Responsibilities include leading the planning team, building accurate forecasts by customer/SKU, coordinating S&OP, and translating forecasts into master production schedules

Qualifications

• Experience in demand planning, supply planning, production planning or supply chain in food/beverage/FMCG.
• Experience with forecasting, S&OP, scheduling, inventory and delivery planning.
• Proven track record in leading a planning or supply chain team.
• Strong manufacturing knowledge: capacity planning, batch changes, allergens, shelf-life.
• Analytical mindset translating data into practical planning solutions.
• Advanced Excel; experience with ERP/MRP; MES/WMS is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management across Sales, Operations, Procurement and Customer Service.
• Dutch and English fluency required; HBO/WO educated.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Planning Team with daily, weekly, monthly routines.
• Build accurate demand forecasts by customer and SKU with Sales/Accounts.
• Improve forecast accuracy, bias, and run monthly consensus forecasts.
• Coordinate monthly S&OP balancing demand with capacity.
• Convert forecasts into master production schedules and detailed plans.
• Optimize sequencing to minimize changeovers while meeting quality needs.
• Define green coffee, ingredients, and packaging requirements with Procurement.
• Manage inventory targets for green coffee, WIP, and finished goods.
• Coordinate delivery planning, bookings, and order fulfillment.
• Handle planning changes, disruptions, and shortages with Ops/Procurement.
• Maintain master data (BOMs, routings, lead times, pack formats).
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in forecasting, scheduling, planning.

Pelican Rouge Coffee Roasters, part of the Selecta Group, is looking for an experienced and proactive Planning Team Leader (m/f/d) to lead our planning function at our coffee roasting facility in the Netherlands.

Reporting to the Planning & Client Experience Leader, you will be responsible for translating customer demand into an accurate forecast, transforming forecasts into production schedules, and ensuring products are delivered to customers on time and in full. Acting as the key link between Sales, Procurement, Operations, Logistics, and Client Experience, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our end-to-end supply chain.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Planning Team while establishing clear daily, weekly, and monthly planning routines
• Build and maintain accurate demand forecasts by customer and SKU in close collaboration with Sales and Account Managers
• Measure and improve forecast accuracy and bias while facilitating monthly consensus forecast reviews
• Coordinate and drive the monthly S&OP process, balancing customer demand with available production capacity
• Convert forecasts into master production schedules and detailed roasting, grinding, mixing, and packaging plans
• Optimize production sequencing to minimize changeovers while ensuring compliance with allergen, decaf, certified coffee, and quality requirements
• Define green coffee, ingredient, and packaging material requirements to support Procurement and supply continuity
• Manage inventory targets for green coffee, work-in-progress, and finished goods while minimizing obsolete and slow-moving stock
• Coordinate delivery planning, transportation bookings, and customer order fulfillment activities
• Manage planning changes, production disruptions, and supply shortages in collaboration with Operations and Procurement teams
• Maintain planning master data, including BOMs, routings, lead times, and pack formats within ERP and planning systems
• Monitor and report planning KPIs while driving continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting, scheduling, and planning processes

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, production planning, or supply chain management within food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing
• Demonstrated experience across forecasting, S&OP, production scheduling, inventory planning, and delivery planning
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing a planning or supply chain team
• Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, including capacity planning, batch production, changeovers, allergens, and shelf-life management
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to transform complex data into practical planning solutions
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, MRP, or planning systems; MES/WMS experience is advantageous
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to align priorities across Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service teams
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a dynamic environment
• HBO/WO degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
• APICS/CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certifications are considered an advantage
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required
