Job summary

Wypoon Technologies BV is seeking a hands-on ServiceNow GenAI Engineer to evolve the Employee Portal into an AI-first, conversational experience. You will design, test and maintain secure ServiceNow solutions, focusing on Employee Portal/Employee Center and chat-driven employee journeys.

You’ll apply prompt-engineering to LLMs, work in an Agile/DevOps environment, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable business value for major clients.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on ServiceNow GenAI Engineer to combine solid ServiceNow platform development with the next generation of digital employee experience. This role is suited to a medior ServiceNow Developer who wants to help evolve an employee-facing portal into an AI-first, conversational channel while maintaining a strong focus on usability, engineering quality, responsible AI and measurable business value.

You will design, configure, test, implement and maintain secure and scalable ServiceNow solutions, with particular emphasis on Employee Portal / Employee Center and conversational employee experiences. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions, develop ServiceNow functionality using JavaScript, apply prompt-engineering techniques to LLM implementations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile and DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, test, deploy and maintain ServiceNow solutions in accordance with platform standards and change-management processes.
• Develop and enhance ServiceNow Employee Portal / Employee Center, including user journeys, service catalog experiences, knowledge access, enterprise search and self-service capabilities.
• Contribute to the transition from a traditional employee portal toward a ChatGPT-style conversational employee experience.
• Design conversational flows enabling employees to ask questions, discover knowledge, initiate services and receive contextual guidance using natural language.
• Apply prompt engineering techniques to LLM-based solutions, including prompt design, grounding, evaluation, guardrails and iterative improvement based on user feedback.
• Develop and maintain JavaScript-based ServiceNow functionality, including Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions and other relevant platform components.
• Configure forms, workflows, Flow Designer automations, policies, notifications and integrations.
• Develop and maintain integrations with external systems, including REST-based integrations where required.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, architects, security teams, service owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical solutions and deliverable user stories.
• Identify opportunities to improve resolution times, reduce avoidable ticket volumes, strengthen employee self-service and automate repetitive processes.
• Perform structured testing, resolve defects, document implemented solutions and deliver functionality in accordance with the team's Definition of Done.
• Contribute to ServiceNow platform stability, performance, maintainability, lifecycle management and secure development practices.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and provide practical guidance on ServiceNow and AI implementation patterns.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve the platform, development processes and employee experience.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in IT, information security, software engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Approximately 3 or more years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including configuring, testing, deploying and maintaining ServiceNow solutions.
• Demonstrable experience developing and configuring ServiceNow Employee Portal and/or Employee Center.
• Strong JavaScript development experience within ServiceNow.
• Practical experience with prompt engineering and LLM implementations, including testing and improving prompt quality, reliability and effectiveness.
• Experience designing user-friendly digital employee experiences or self-service solutions.
• Understanding of Service Management principles.
• Experience with one or more ServiceNow areas such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SPM/ITBM, SecOps or GRC.
• Experience developing integrations, preferably using REST APIs.
• Experience with structured testing and software release practices.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
• Fluent Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Continuous improvement mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ServiceNow Virtual Agent, Now Assist, AI Search, Employee Center Pro, or comparable conversational and self-service capabilities.
• Experience with Azure AI services, including Microsoft Copilot Studio or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience working in a large enterprise or regulated environment.
• Familiarity with UX/UI methodologies and experience collaborating with UX/UI designers or researchers.
• Additional ServiceNow certifications, including CIS, Suite certifications or relevant Micro-Certifications.
• Knowledge or certification in ITIL, IT4IT or SIAM.
