Job summary

Alden Equipment, Inc. in Amsterdam, NY is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair LP gas, diesel, and electric forklifts and related material handling equipment, on-site at customer locations and in the shop.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, perform scheduled maintenance, document work, and keep safety and quality standards. This role requires a valid driver’s license and a readiness to work in a fast-paced service environment.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair, with experience performing scheduled maintenance on industrial or material handling equipment.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
• Background in Field Service work, including on-site service visits and mobile repairs at customer locations.
• Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.
• Experience working with LP gas, diesel, and electric forklifts or similar equipment is highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
• Solid understanding of safety practices and OSHA guidelines related to industrial equipment service.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to lift and move heavy parts and tools as required.
• Technical certificate or vocational training in automotive, diesel, or industrial equipment technology preferred; prior experience as a service technician is a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description
