Job summary

Forkliftcenter in Amsterdam is seeking a Service Mechanic to maintain, repair, and inspect forklifts and port equipment for customers worldwide. The role combines workshop work with occasional field service at customer sites, offering independence and teamwork in a practical, hands-on environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, MBO level 3/4 in a technical field, and knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics, and PLC systems.

Qualifications

• MBO level 3/4 technical education or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics and PLC systems.
• Certificates or brand training from Kalmar, Konecranes or Hyster are a plus or willingness to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs and preventive maintenance on forklifts and port equipment.
• Carrying out technical inspections in the workshop or on site.
• Analyzing and resolving faults (electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical).
• Carrying out safety inspections in accordance with applicable standards.
• Documenting work performed and reporting to colleagues and customers.
• Occasionally carrying out service jobs at customer locations.
