Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Linux Platform Integration Engineer based in the Netherlands to optimize Ubuntu across IoT, desktop, and server platforms. You will work with partners to tailor Ubuntu experiences, build device OS images, and drive cross-layer integration from kernel to applications.

You will engage with global teams, contribute to open-source initiatives, and help ensure high performance and reliability across cloud, edge, and enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Linux packaging technologies such as Debian, RPM, or Yocto.
• Proven experience with open-source communities, projects, and licensing models.
• Strong programming experience with Python, C, and C++.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems across multiple layers of the stack.
• Ability to work in a globally distributed environment and take ownership of complex challenges.
• Experience with CI automation platforms, Docker/OCI containers, or Kubernetes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized Ubuntu integrations for IoT, desktop, and server platforms.
• Collaborate with technology partners to deliver high-quality Ubuntu experiences.
• Contribute to platform integration plans, testing strategies, and system architecture.
• Act as a technical lead on customer engagements involving architectures spanning cloud, edge, hardware, OS, and apps.
• Assist partners in integrating applications and SDKs and in building device OS images.
• Work across the Linux stack to address complex integration challenges.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives and collaborate with global teams and partners.
• Apply benchmarking, profiling, testing, and automation to improve quality, reliability, and performance.
