Job summary

Alfen B.V. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to translate complex electrical engineering knowledge into clear documentation for energy storage systems, smart grids, and related products.

You will join the Energy Storage Systems R&D team, collaborating with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and structure information, while writing in English and ensuring consistency across documentation. Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master level education in a technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a project-based engineering environment.
• Experience working in a CMS and with DITA XML using an XML editor.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE).
• Knowledge of 3D illustration software (such as Creo Illustrate) is a plus.
• A proactive and independent attitude.

• Design accurate and clear technical illustrations and diagrams to support documentation.

Join Alfen as a Senior Technical Writer! Make complex technical information understandable and contribute to the energy transition. Within our innovative development environment, you’ll translate electrical engineering knowledge into clear documentation that supports and enhances our products.

What will you do?

As a Technical Writer at Alfen, you are the bridge between technology and language. You develop and manage technical documentation such as installation manuals, user instructions, and product specifications for energy storage systems and smart grids

You’ll be part of our multidisciplinary Energy Storage Systems R&D team and work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and structure crucial information to create product documentation. Within the Technical Writers team, you’ll be supported by an enthusiastic Team Lead. You’ll write in English and actively contribute to the consistency and quality of our documentation.

Your key responsibilities

You are analytical, linguistically skilled, and have an affinity for technology. You bring the following skills and knowledge:

• Bachelor or Master level education in a technical field.

• Experience working in a CMS and with DITA XML using an XML editor.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
