Job summary

Heerema Marine Contractors seeks a Technical Superintendent Tugs & Barges to oversee repairs, maintenance and inspections on tugs, barges and project-specific equipment, both on board and ashore.

You bring a mechanical/maritime engineering background with about 5 years in a similar role, strong project management and hands-on problem-solving, and excellent Dutch and English communication, with willingness to travel to vessels and sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Maritime/Naval and around 5 years in a similar role.
• Strong project management and commercial skills.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication; willingness to travel to vessels and locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise repair, maintenance and technical activities for tugs, barges and project-specific equipment.
• Identify technical risks, critical maintenance periods and investment needs and translate them into practical plans.
• Work closely with Asset Equipment Manager, Vessel Management Teams and Operational Managers to keep assets safe, reliable and operational.
• Coordinate equipment inspections, classification requirements and maintenance activities, both from shore and on board.
• Take ownership of technical challenges from start to finish, balancing safety, quality, planning, operational requirements and costs.
