Job summary

Heerema Marine Contractors seeks a Technical Superintendent E&I to oversee electrical and instrumentation systems across a fleet of 2 tugs and 10 barges. Based in Leiden, with occasional travel to Vlissingen, you will coordinate maintenance, upgrades and ensure safe, reliable operations from shore in close collaboration with vessel crews and Equipment Managers.

You will identify risks, drive technical improvements, and support engineering, commissioning, testing, and coordination with suppliers

Qualifications

• Vocational or bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with maritime E&I installations.
• Strong English communication with colleagues, crews and suppliers.
• Proactive, results-oriented mindset with willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate E&I maintenance, repairs and upgrades across the fleet.
• Identify risks and translate into practical improvements and projects.
• Collaborate with vessel crews, Equipment Managers and specialists.
• Take ownership from start to finish, balancing safety, quality, and costs.
• Take ownership of technical challenges from start to finish, with focus on safety, quality, certification, planning and costs.
