Job summary

Jobgether in the Netherlands is seeking a hands-on Lead Tech SRE to own architecture, delivery, and continuous improvement of a growing cloud orchestration platform. This fully remote role leads a small SRE team while shaping infrastructure design, automation, and incident response for customer environments on GCP.

You will define the technical roadmap with the CTO, platform engineering, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, platform, or infra engineering with leadership experience.
• Deep production-grade Kubernetes expertise and cluster management.
• Strong Google Cloud Platform experience, esp. GKE and IAM.
• Expert Terraform skills for reusable modules and multi-environment state.
• Ability to define architecture, write specs, and translate designs into plans.
• Experience coordinating delivery and guiding a small team.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of the managed cloud platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Define architectural roadmap from Beta to GA, balancing isolation, reliability, and cost.
• Write specifications, ADRs, and explain trade-offs clearly.
• Define SLOs and error budgets for services and tiers.
• Lead delivery across a three-person team and remove blockers.
• Set engineering standards for Terraform modules, Helm charts, and GitOps.
• Automate full customer-environment lifecycles including provisioning.
• Own deployment strategy with ArgoCD and GitHub Actions, safe upgrades.
• Build end-to-end observability with metrics, logs, traces, alerts.
• Lead on-call, incident response and postmortems.
• Plan capacity and autoscaling for variable workloads.
• Drive FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Strengthen platform security with security engineer collaboration.
• Collaborate on product improvements and architectural milestones.
