Job summary

Travix in Amsterdam is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to be the first contact for technical issues, covering Windows, Mac, and Linux environments. You’ll troubleshoot 1st/2nd line cases, maintain system standards, and coordinate with teams in Amsterdam and Bangalore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or engineering support.
• Solid knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Experience with VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/s, TCP/IP protocols, and Active Directory.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent English, written and spoken.
• Prior experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role.
• Scripting experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: prioritize, investigate, and troubleshoot 1st & 2nd line cases during office hours.
• Customer & Client Service Quality: ensure interactions meet high service standards.
• System Maintenance & Upgrades: manage IT equipment and software; coordinate with external suppliers.
• Project Ownership: propose improvements, draft timelines, and document for approval.
• Infrastructure & Network Security Support: work with VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/s, TCP/IP, AD, and related systems.
• Documentation & Collaboration: maintain knowledge base and share learnings across teams.
• Working in a Fast-Paced Environment: adapt quickly and stay level-headed.
