Job summary

Travix International is seeking a Systems Support Engineer for our Amsterdam IT team. You are the first point of contact for technical issues, handling a range of software and infrastructure problems with a focus on clear reporting and effective problem solving.

You will work on-site in Amsterdam, collaborating with colleagues daily, and have ample opportunity to propose improvements, document processes, and grow your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of IT support, systems administration, or engineering support.
• Solid knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Experience with VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/s, TCP/IP protocols, and Active Directory.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills, comfortable gathering data and turning it into clear, useful reports.
• Disciplined, self-driven, and focused on getting results.
• Excellent English, written and spoken.
• Prior experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or similar role.
• Scripting experience is a plus, not required, but there's plenty of room to grow into it here.

Responsibilities

• As the first point of contact in Amsterdam, you'll prioritize, investigate, and troubleshoot 1st & 2nd line cases during Amsterdam office hours.
• You'll ensure high-quality interactions across in-person, chat, or ticket channels.
• You'll manage IT equipment and software, organize maintenance automation, and uphold system standards.
• You'll work with external suppliers to keep service delivery cost-effective and ensure meeting room tech is reliable.
• You'll design simple timelines and architectures for improvements, with security and cost-benefit considerations.
• You'll support VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/S, TCP/IP, AD, Google Workspace, and security policies.
• You'll maintain the knowledge base and coach peers with documented findings.
