Job summary

HID Global seeks a Systems Engineer to drive system design, lead projects, and collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales and engineering teams worldwide. The role emphasizes architecture across electronics, mechanics and software, translating roadmaps into concepts and shaping future systems and units.

You will guide a multidisciplinary team, review prototypes, estimate resources, and support customers through development; fluent Dutch/English communication across global teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Leadership and people management experience.
• Experience in system design.
• Strong communication skills.
• High-tech or optical systems experience.
• Exposure to international environments.
• Knowledge of process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead determination of system architecture for new products and processes, integrating electronics, mechanics, and software.
• Translate and implement architecture into concepts and solutions.
• Stay informed on new technologies and apply them to HID processes and products.
• Translate roadmaps and customer demand into future-proof concepts and architecture for new systems and units.
• Record and monitor system specifications.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing to create a long-term technology and systems development roadmap.
• Support product marketing in discussions with customers about future developments.
• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering project team and challenge the team to develop creative and reliable solutions.
• Support estimation of required resources and budgets and monitor progress.
• Review design and validation of prototypes to ensure alignment with requirements and architecture.
• Sales support: explain new concepts and prototypes to launching customers and translate customer feedback into concept changes.
• Communication: operate in Dutch and English; coordinate with a multidisciplinary engineering team and challenge the team to deliver.
• Communicate with Product Marketing and Sales about the technology and system development vision.
• Discuss with customers about future developments and translate feedback into concept changes.
• Identify and escalate concepts that do not fit within the system architecture.
• Make decisions within the project team regarding engineering projects.
• Propose system architecture for new products and processes to Teamleader Engineering NPI.
