We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Senior Specialist in Construction Technology to join a dynamic team on a freelance basis for 12 months, with an immediate start. This is a critical role for professionals passionate about engineering structures that not only meet functional and safety standards, but also stand the test of time.

As a senior specialist, you'll be involved from the early stages of a project, providing technical leadership, on-site evaluations, and expert advice to ensure excellence in every phase of the build. The role can be based in Hellevoetsluis or Amsterdam, with site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, dimension, and detail calculations for a variety of structural systems (steel, concrete, etc.)
Conduct on-site measurements, recordings, and construction investigations
Review and validate third-party and internal calculations, models, and drawings
Provide technical guidance to engineers, modellers, and support staff
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery
Manage your own budgets, planning, and full project delivery from concept to handover
Potential to act as project leader for technical and/or organizational project aspects

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering (TU/HBO) with additional structural qualifications (HTI, BmS, BV)
Proven experience in a similar role (e.g., Structural Engineering Consultant or Specialist)
Strong skills in both 2D and 3D structural analysis software
Broad understanding of related disciplines (MEP, fire safety, construction cost, mechanical systems)
Excellent knowledge of Dutch building codes, regulations, and modern construction techniques
Dutch-speaking professional preferred due to project and site requirements
Freelance contract – 12 months
Immediate start
Flexibility to be based in Amsterdam or Hellevoetsluis
