Job summary

NN Group's Strategy & Transformation Office is expanding its Strategy Consulting Pool to deliver high-impact strategic work across growth, business model design, and transformation. As a Senior Strategy Consultant, you will lead defined workstreams, translate complex questions into structured analyses, and present actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Based in The Hague with onsite work two days a week, you will mentor junior consultants, collaborate with MB and MB-1 stakeholders,

Qualifications

• Around 5 years of experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or in an internal strategy/analytical role leading workstreams.
• Hypothesis-driven problem solving with the ability to translate complex topics into clear analyses and recommendations.
• Independent worker with high quality standards and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead clearly defined workstreams within corporate strategy projects from problem structuring to synthesis and recommendation.
• Engage with stakeholders through interviews and workshops to ensure alignment and high-quality inputs.
• Translate findings into clear, well-structured storylines and materials for senior stakeholders; coach junior Strategy Consultants.

NN Group is accelerating its Future Ready journey. At the core of this journey, the Strategy & Transformation Office is expanding its internal Strategy Consulting Pool to meet growing demand for high-impact strategic work across topics such as growth, business model design, proposition development, distribution and long-term strategic bets.

In this role, you will work on board-level priorities, combining structured problem solving with hands‑on execution. You will combine rigorous problem solving, fact-based analysis and compelling communication to develop recommendations that shape NN Group’s direction.

Recent engagements include defining a group-wide commercial strategy and multiple business‑unit and business‑line strategies. The Strategy Consulting Pool is a small, high‑performing team with strong strategy consulting backgrounds and direct exposure to Managing Board (MB) and MB‑1 stakeholders. The team plays a critical role in bridging strategy, digital innovation, and execution, ensuring that strategic choices translate into tangible business outcomes. The team is based in The Hague and works onsite at least two days per week, with the option to meet in Amsterdam when relevant.

What you are going to do

As a Senior Strategy Consultant, you lead clearly defined workstreams within corporate strategy projects, translating complex questions into structured approaches, analyses and actionable recommendations. You work on topics such as growth strategy, portfolio choices, business models, and cross‑business strategic opportunities. You take ownership of the end‑to‑end delivery of your workstream, from problem structuring through analysis to synthesis and recommendation. You engage with stakeholders across the organisation through interviews and workshops, ensuring alignment and high‑quality inputs. You translate findings into clear, well‑structured storylines and materials for senior stakeholders, and contribute to the overall coherence and impact of the project. You also support and coach Strategy Consultants in their day‑to‑day work.

• Salary between €7,087 and €9,449 based on a 40‑hour working week depending on your knowledge and experience

Who you are

You have around 5 years of experience in a top‑tier or strategy consulting firm, or in an internal strategy or analytical role with responsibility for leading workstreams. You are strong in hypothesis‑driven problem solving and able to translate complex topics into clear analyses and recommendations. You work independently, maintain a high quality standard and ensure timely delivery. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders and can communicate clearly and effectively at different levels of the organisation. You have an interest in corporate strategy and transformation, and understand the role of digital, data & AI as enablers. You are fluent in Dutch and English and actively support the development of less experienced colleagues.

Who you will work with

You are part of the Strategy & Transformation Office which consists of two teams: Portfolio management Future Ready programme and the Strategy Consulting Pool. The team has a direct reporting line to the CEO of NN Group.
