Job summary

project44 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Visibility Platform team in Amsterdam. You will help shape the shared engineering foundation powering Ground, Ocean, Air, and Orders, turning billions of carrier signals into real-time tracking, milestones, and notifications for the world's largest shippers and logistics providers.

You will design event-driven systems for high-throughput data, own reliability and performance, and work across multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP; Azure

Qualifications

5+ years professional experience building large scale and real time or near real time cloud systems.
Strong programming and debugging skills, with proficiency in Java Backend.
Experience with high scale systems, low latency SLAs and high availability.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve core platforms behind visibility products: ingestion, milestones, delivery and APIs.
Design event-driven systems handling high-throughput carrier data with low latency.
Own reliability, performance and scalability of platforms your team operates.
Build systems in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP; Azure exposure valued).
Collaborate with modal teams to expose platform capabilities for cross-team use.
Share ownership of development, operations and testing; contribute to on-call duties.
Invest in tools, monitoring and automation to improve on-call experience.
