Job summary

project44 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Visibility Platform team in Amsterdam. You will help shape the shared engineering foundation that powers Ground, Ocean, Air, and Orders—turning billions of carrier signals into real-time tracking, milestones, and notifications for the world’s largest shippers.

Design event-driven systems with high throughput, low latency, and high availability. Own the reliability and scalability of the platforms, and build in a multi-cloud environment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building large-scale real-time cloud systems.
• Strong Java backend skills with design for high availability.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency data processing.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve core platforms for visibility products (event ingestion, milestones, notifications).
• Design and operate event-driven systems with reliable, scalable performance.
• Collaborate with multiple modal teams across Grounds, Ocean, Air, and Orders.
