Job summary

TOPdesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Netherlands to drive production work, modernise legacy systems, and push agentic workflows across a cross-functional team. You will own the Knowledge Base end to end, shipping new features while ensuring performance and reliability for millions of users.

Key requirements include 5+ years in Java, hands-on agentic delivery, and experience with TypeScript/Vue or Azure-hosted stacks.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Java experience.
• Hands-on agentic delivery practice (Claude Code, Cursor, Aider or equivalent).
• Experience with TypeScript or Vue, or Azure-hosted systems.
• Strong testing instincts and operational awareness.
• Ability to work in ambiguous legacy codebases and communicate in writing.

Responsibilities

• Owns and evolves the Knowledge Base end to end, from UI to backend.
• Ships legacy-modernisation and product work through agentic workflows.
• Builds shared prompt and agent libraries for the wider org.
• Frame and decompose problems, orchestrate agents, and verify results.
• Write implementation briefs before invoking agents and ensure clear evidence.
