Qualifications

• Proven track record of building, shipping, and operating production backend systems.

We're an early-stage post-seed startup building the software platform powering the next generation of telecommunications. Our small engineering team consists of ambitious, experienced software engineers, who have built and scaled mission-critical systems at companies including Adyen, Miro, and Microsoft.

The role

As a (Senior) Backend Engineer, you'll design, build and maintain the systems that power the platform. You'll tackle challenging backend and infrastructure problems involving global connectivity, distributed systems, real-time provisioning, and billing, building reliable systems designed to serve millions of users worldwide.

You'll own projects from technical design through production, collaborating closely with the founders and the rest of the engineering team. You'll have significant influence over our architecture, engineering practices, and the way we build software.

What we're looking for

You prefer working with other ambitious people in our office located near Amsterdam Central station. Of course, we are flexible if you prefer to work from home once a week to focus.

Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment with few predefined processes.

A strong track record of building, shipping, and operating production backend systems.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience building and operating production software at scale.

Strong experience with a statically typed language such as TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, or Kotlin.

Solid understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL

Experience working with (private) cloud infrastructure.

Strong engineering fundamentals, with an emphasis on testing, clean architecture, and maintainable code.
