Overview

Senior Software Engineer (GO) – Empiric, Amstelveen, North Holland, Netherlands

We’re after ambitious, self-starting tech lovers who go beyond just writing code. You thrive being involved in every stage of the software delivery lifecycle, and have a track record of building modern systems from the ground up using up-to-date architectures.

Responsibilities

• You’ll be a key developer in a team building and maintaining our private cloud platform (think Red Hat OpenShift and related technologies).
• You’ll help shape a platform that supports mission-critical services, aligns with organisational scale, and meets demanding customer requirements.
• Contribute across the software delivery lifecycle, with a focus on building operable, maintainable services.

Qualifications

• Excellent experience with back-end engineering, particularly in Go — though strong Rust, C#, Kotlin or similar skills will count.
• Proven ability to build operable, maintainable services; embedding tools like OpenTelemetry across the SDLC is a big plus.
• Experience deploying applications via GitOps workflows.
• Strong background in automated testing, test-driven and behaviour-driven development, etc.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with platform orchestration / automation (a major advantage).
• Experience setting up / maintaining build & CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of on-premise virtualised networks is a bonus.
• Experience in greenfield settings and agile teams.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes; OpenShift is a bonus.
• Dutch language proficiency is required.
