Job summary

SWITCH in Eindhoven is seeking a Software Architect to provide technical direction for state-of-the-art application software on challenging high-tech projects. You will lead architectural design across embedded and application software, collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines in the Brainport region.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, with 10+ years of experience and strong C# and C++ skills, plus OOAD, Agile, TDD, and MDSD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in technical software development across multiple roles, products, and project environments.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect, with the ambition to further expand architectural expertise.
• Strong programming skills in C# and C++ across different operating systems, including state machines and real-time software.
• Extensive experience with OOAD, Agile, TDD, and Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex software and process-related issues.
• Experience in dynamic environments with changing priorities and multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of complex software systems, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Prepare technical proposals and feasibility studies with project managers, account managers, and customers.
• Work with project managers to define project organization, estimate timelines, and identify risks with mitigations.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Coach and mentor engineers, supporting their professional growth through knowledge sharing and on-the-job guidance.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in embedded systems and application software.
