Job summary

NRL is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead on-site delivery of a major construction project based in Groningen, Netherlands. The role is on-site, full-time, with responsibility for day-to-day operations and coordination of site teams.

You will drive safety, quality and programme performance, managing subcontractors and ensuring milestones are met within budget while upholding high standards of construction methods and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing large-scale construction projects.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising multi-level site teams.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, trade requirements and project delivery within budget and timescales.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality management practices.
• Relevant training such as IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety certification, plus site-related safety training (temporary works, working at height, lifting and cranage).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to programme.
• Lead and develop Site Managers, Site Agents and Supervisors to achieve project objectives.
• Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures, promoting a zero-incident culture.
• Monitor progress against programme, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
• Coordinate site setup and ensure facilities are ready prior to project launch.
• Manage subcontractor relationships and resolve issues affecting programme, cost or quality.
• Maintain and review all site records, logs and documentation for compliance.
• Lead site meetings and briefings, clearly communicating priorities and safety expectations.
