Job summary

John Sisk & Son seeks a Senior Site Manager to lead on a large-scale data centre project in the Netherlands. You will manage day-to-day site operations, guide site teams, and ensure safety, quality and alignment with the programme.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive site management experience and a solid grasp of BIM and construction technologies. You will coordinate with subcontractors, drive improvement, and report to Senior Site Agents and Operations Managers.

Qualifications

• Trade or technical background with substantial site management experience.
• IOSH or equivalent health and safety management training.
• Temporary works and excavation safety training.
• Working at heights and scaffolding training.
• Lifting and cranage operations training.
• Additional HSEQS training as required by site HSE plan.
• Understanding of BIM strategy and new construction technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations ensuring safety, efficiency and adherence to programme.
• Lead Site Managers, Site Agents and Supervisors to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and promote a zero-incident culture.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and milestone targets.
• Coordinate site setup and prepare facilities prior to project launch.
• Manage sub-contractor relationships to resolve issues affecting programme, cost, safety or quality.
• Maintain site records such as diaries, temporary works registers and HSEQS logs.
• Lead site meetings and communications to convey priorities and safety expectations.
• Escalate risks to Senior Site Agent or Senior Operations Manager for mitigation.
• Support commercial teams in understanding site requirements and delivery costs.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Mentor Site Managers and staff for professional development.

Overview

We have an opportunity for a Senior Site Manager to join our Data Centre team in the Netherlands. Responsible for the operational management of a large-scale or complex construction project. Leads the on-site team to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery. Ensuring alignment with project programme, commercial objectives and company standards. Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the site to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to programme
• Lead Site Managers, Site Agents, General Site Supervisors and other supervisory staff to achieve project objectives
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and actively promote a zero-incident culture
• Monitor progress against the project programme, ensuring weekly targets and milestones are achieved
• Coordinate site setup and ensure facilities are prepared prior to project launch
• Manage sub-contractor relationships and work collaboratively to resolve issues impacting programme, cost, safety or quality
• Maintain and review site records including Temporary Works Registers, daily diaries, quality documentation and HSEQS logs
• Lead site meetings, briefings and whiteboard sessions to communicate priorities, objectives and safety expectations
• Escalate risks or challenges to Senior Site Agent or Senior Operations Manager for mitigation
• Support the commercial and project management teams in understanding site requirements and achieving cost-effective delivery
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, productivity, quality and efficiency
• Mentor and develop Site Managers and supervisory staff, supporting professional development and succession planning

Experience

• Extensive experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects
• Strong leadership and people management skills, capable of supervising multi-level site teams
• Knowledge of industrial relations and subcontractor management
• Ability to prioritise, make decisions under pressure and resolve operational challenges on site
• Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, trade requirements and codes of practice
• Proven experience in programme management and project delivery within budget and schedule
• Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and building consensus among stakeholders
• Strong awareness of health, safety, environmental and quality management practices
