Job summary

QuantWare in Delft seeks a Senior Semiconductor Equipment Engineer to lead end-to-end installations, commission new capacity, and drive production readiness. You will own maintenance, documentation, and improvements across complex high-vacuum systems in a fast-paced hardware team.

You will mentor colleagues, define standards, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure robust, safe, and scalable equipment performance for a growing manufacturing footprint.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and qualification.
• Experience with high-vacuum systems such as PVD, CVD.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex equipment problems.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of new equipment installations, from requirements review and facility readiness through FAT, incoming inspection, installation, IQ/OQ, qualification, and handover to production.
• Bring new cleanroom and manufacturing capacity online, coordinate equipment moves, installations, facility hookups, OEM activities, commissioning, and production readiness.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spare-parts plans, service requirements, equipment documentation, and reliability improvement programs.
• Resolve equipment failures through systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; implement permanent corrective actions and share lessons learned.
• Act as a technical reference for other equipment engineers and technicians; support and mentor colleagues, review work, and help establish engineering standards.
• Coordinate closely with equipment manufacturers, field service engineers, contractors, and suppliers; challenge proposals and ensure actions and deliverables are completed.
• Ensure equipment requirements for electrical power, gases, vacuum, exhaust, cooling water, chilled water, chemicals, cryogenics, and other utilities are clearly defined and implemented.
• Establish and improve installation procedures, maintenance standards, checklists, troubleshooting guides, equipment specifications, acceptance criteria, and engineering change practices.
• Use equipment performance data and maintenance records to improve uptime, safety, and cost of ownership.
