Job summary

CFP Green Buildings in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Sales & Business Development professional to win new clients and grow existing relationships. You will translate client needs into tailored proposals for energy and sustainability services, and manage deals from first contact to close.

You will work with consultants, report to the Head of Consultancy, and enjoy a hybrid setup with offices in Naarden or Apeldoorn, from home or on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant commercial experience in a B2B environment, preferably in consultancy, property, sustainability or related sector.
• Knowledge of B2B sales and client relationship management, and ability to translate client needs into services.
• Excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Independently approach new clients and further develop relationships with existing clients.
• Develop tailored proposals for services including energy and sustainability consultancy, energy management and certifications.
• Present proposals, negotiate prices and contract terms, and close deals.
• Manage own client portfolio and sales processes, reporting to Head of Consultancy.
• Collaborate with consultants and sales/marketing to hand over projects to delivery teams.

Would you like to use your commercial experience to make buildings more sustainable? At CFP Green Buildings, the Senior Sales & Business Development role within our Consultancy team gives you the opportunity to win new clients in the Netherlands and develop existing client relationships. You will turn commercial opportunities into projects that improve the sustainability of buildings and property portfolios.

What will you do?

You will independently approach new clients and further develop relationships with existing clients. In client meetings, you will identify what they need to make their buildings more sustainable. Together with our consultants, you will develop tailored proposals for services including energy and sustainability consultancy, energy management and certification schemes such as BREEAM and WELL. You will present these proposals, negotiate prices and contract terms, and close deals.

You will independently manage your own client portfolio and sales processes, reporting to the Head of Consultancy. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager Consultancy, the Operations Manager Consultancy, consultants and the sales and marketing team. Together, you will develop tailored client proposals and ensure a clear handover of projects to the delivery team. You will also contribute to the further development of our commercial approach within Consultancy.

Your key responsibilities in Senior Sales & Business Development

• Independently prepare, present and follow up on quotations and commercial proposals, negotiate prices and contract terms, and close deals;
• Actively generate and follow up on leads, identify developments in property and sustainability, and keep client information and sales opportunities up to date in Salesforce;
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships, develop new projects with existing clients, and work with sales and marketing to organise commercial initiatives for Consultancy;
• Prepare and deliver client meetings and presentations, identify sustainability needs, and work with consultants to develop tailored proposals;

What do you bring?

• Bachelor’s or master’s level of working and thinking;
• At least 5 years of relevant commercial experience in a B2B environment, preferably in consultancy, property, sustainability or a related sector;
• Knowledge of B2B sales and client relationship management, along with a basic understanding of sustainability and property. You can work with consultants to translate client needs into suitable services;
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills. You build lasting client relationships at different levels, from operational contacts to senior management;
• An entrepreneurial, results-driven and analytical approach: you take initiative, work in a structured way and independently manage sales processes through to completion;
• An excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written. You communicate clearly and work well with clients, consultants, sales and marketing.
