GitLab is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen the Verify:Pipeline Execution team. You will contribute to the core of GitLab CI, focusing on the monolithic Ruby on Rails backend, database performance, and scalable job orchestration for millions of jobs.

Collaboration with product, frontend, and other Verify teams is essential to deliver fast, secure, and dependable CI capabilities. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and help evolve the CI domain while keeping

Qualifications

Extensive experience building backend services for high-traffic systems.
Advanced proficiency with Ruby on Rails for large monoliths.
Deep PostgreSQL expertise including schema design and query tuning.
Track record improving performance, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Write high-quality Ruby on Rails code powering CI pipelines.
Improve reliability and performance of the CI pipeline execution domain.
Design and iterate on features like merge trains, schedules, and review apps.
Analyze production issues and drive architectural improvements.
Collaborate with product managers and other teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Model data and optimize queries with PostgreSQL.
