Job summary

R2 is seeking a Portfolio Manager (IC4) to own the credit portfolio across high-ticket merchant credit in a fast-growing fintech. You’ll monitor vintages, losses, originations, and portfolio health, and you’ll work hands-on in SQL to extract and analyze data, turning findings into actionable decisions.

We value ~7 years in credit or lending, with underwriting experience at scale, strong SQL/Python, and comfort with data-driven risk management.

Qualifications

• ~7 years of experience in credit, lending, credit risk, business analytics, or lending institution.
• Background in fintech, payment processor, POS provider, or bank with real lending/credit exposure.
• Hands-on underwriting experience with large/high-ticket merchant credit at scale.
• Strong data analysis in SQL and/or Python.
• Statistical/data literacy; comfortable with fundamentals and model interpretation.
• Comfort using AI tools is a plus; focus on material knowledge.
• Experience working with US or LatAm teams is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own monitoring the credit portfolio: vintages, losses, originations, NPL by cohort, and profitability.
• Evaluate and underwrite high-ticket merchant credit facilities (USD 100K-200K and above), at scale.
• Define and track business metrics: loss, yield/profitability, portfolio construction and health.
• Work hands-on in SQL to extract, structure, and analyze portfolio data.
• Apply statistical reasoning to portfolio questions.
• Partner with the business team and handle client interaction.
• Generate findings and transform them into presentations for a larger audience.
• Automate monitoring KPIs of this portfolio.
