Job summary

IC Resources in Delft, Netherlands, on-site, seeks a Senior RF Engineer to own end-to-end design, verification and scaling of high-frequency flex interconnects. The role includes managing supplier co-development and leading projects from concept through to volume manufacture.

You will balance signal integrity, RF performance with mechanical reliability and thermal considerations while coordinating external partners and mentoring engineers in flex interconnect development.

Qualifications

• Four years of hands-on RF engineering, signal integrity or high-frequency interconnect design.
• Experience with flex circuits, rigid-flex, or micro-coaxial interfaces.
• Proficient RF simulation (HFSS/CST/ADS) and RF measurement (VNAs, spectrum analysers, TDR).
• Experience leading hardware projects from concept to volume production.
• Experience managing external vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive flex interconnect systems from early-stage concepts through verification, qualification and high-volume manufacturing.
• Maintain signal integrity and RF performance while accounting for mechanical reliability, durability and thermal performance.
• Work directly with external suppliers and development partners to develop complex flex interconnect hardware.
• Translate RF, mechanical and system-level specifications into clear technical requirements for suppliers and secure clear delivery commitments.
• Own supplier development schedules, ensuring critical components are delivered without compromising quality or manufacturing yield.
• Drive internal project execution by setting milestones, tracking technical deliverables and coordinating activity against the development roadmap.
• Apply RF simulation and measurement techniques to the development and verification of high-frequency interconnect hardware.
• Lead, mentor and develop engineers working on flex interconnect development and RF integration.

About the position

Location: Delft, Netherlands, on-site

Our client is developing hardware for quantum computing systems, with high-frequency interconnects forming an important part of the underlying hardware architecture. The Senior RF engineer will take full ownership of the end-to-end design, verification and scaling of a critical flex cable interface. The role is primarily focused on high-frequency interconnect engineering, taking flex systems from early concepts through verification, qualification and high-volume manufacture. Alongside the RF engineering, the position has significant responsibility for supplier co-development, project execution and technical leadership. The Senior RF engineer will balance signal integrity and RF performance against mechanical reliability, thermal performance and manufacturability, while coordinating external suppliers and internal engineering activity.

What our client is looking for

• At least four years of hands-on RF engineering, signal integrity or high-frequency interconnect design
• High-frequency interconnect technologies such as flex circuits, rigid-flex or micro-coaxial interfaces
• RF simulation using HFSS, CST, ADS or equivalent software
• RF measurement using VNAs, spectrum analysers and TDR equipment
• Leading hardware or R&D projects from initial concept through verification and into volume production
• Managing external vendors, development partners or component suppliers delivering complex custom electro-mechanical hardware
• Directing and influencing multidisciplinary engineering teams

Experience designing hardware for superconducting circuits or cryogenic environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
