Job summary

SKIM is seeking a Senior Research Lead, Tech & Travel to grow our travel vertical across clients in travel platforms, airlines and digital-first travel businesses. You will own scoping, design strong research approaches, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

In this role you’ll partner with senior stakeholders, stay hands-on through the research process, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver strategic insights that shape client decisions and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in market research, consultancy and/or client-side research roles.
• Strong experience translating business questions into robust research designs, effective questionnaires, and compelling storytelling that turns complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Broad methodological understanding across quantitative or mixed-methods research.
• Strong client management skills, with the ability to build trust, push back constructively and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
• A hands-on approach to senior project leadership.
• Experience outside CPG is a plus, especially in tech, travel, digital platforms, subscription models or other fast-moving industries.
• You are authorised to work in the location you apply for, for example as a resident, citizen, valid visa holder or equivalent.

Job description
This is a unique opportunity for a senior, consultative researcher to take ownership of SKIM's travel vertical within Tech. You will work with clients across travel booking platforms, airlines and other digital-first travel businesses, helping them answer broad strategic questions around proposition development, brand understanding, innovation and consumer behaviour.

You will join our Tech team as a senior research lead, partnering closely with clients and internal teams to scope complex questions, design strong research approaches and translate findings into clear, practical recommendations. This role requires someone who is confident with senior stakeholders, comfortable challenging unclear briefs and willing to stay hands-on throughout the research process.

Specifically, you will be expected to:

• Strategic consulting: you will scope client questions by challenging the brief, uncovering the underlying business need, and translating this into a robust research design. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them define the right questions and identify the most effective approach to answer them.
• Account management: you will be leading, growing and nurturing different clients independently. You are encouraged to take ownership of both well-established accounts and new ones. The goal is to develop strong client partnerships with a long-term view, based on trust and expertise
• Project management: you will be leading and contribute hands-on to senior stakeholder interviews, kick-off sessions, questionnaire development, analysis, storytelling and client presentations
• Research leadership: you will work across a broad range of methodologies and business challenges, including value proposition development, brand understanding, brand communications, usage & attitude studies, innovation testing, and segmentation-related projects. You will bring together different research approaches to deliver clear, actionable recommendations that drive client decision-making.
