QuantWare in Delft is seeking a Senior Quantum Algorithm Engineer to join the Product Development team and advance enterprise-scale quantum applications. You will map real-world problems to quantum algorithms with speedups and translate them into hardware requirements, while leading automation for mapping and resource estimation in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a related field and 5+ years of post-degree research or industry experience in quantum algorithms,

Qualifications

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Computer Science or Quantum Information Science.
• 5+ years of post-degree research or industry experience in quantum algorithm development and resource estimation.
• Deep expertise in quantum algorithms, circuit compilation, and error mitigation.
• Experience implementing workflows on physical quantum hardware preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate quantum computing applications by mapping real-world use cases to quantum algorithms with speedups.
• Develop frameworks to resource-estimate circuit execution and hardware requirements.
• Lead automation for application mapping and resource estimation, collaborating with software teams.
• Collaborate with Quantum Hardware and Systems Engineering to feedback hardware optimisations.
• Stay updated on academic and industry developments in quantum algorithms and error correction.
