Wypoon Technologies in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to design scalable backend systems and data platforms. You will build API-driven services using FastAPI, work on distributed architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of backend experience, strong Python expertise, and hands-on Azure data services knowledge.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend/software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Currently based in the Netherlands and able to work on-site/hybrid.
• Proven API and microservices design experience.
• Experience with data platforms/pipelines (ETL, streaming is a plus).
• Hands-on Azure experience.
• Experience with Azure data services (ADLS, Data Factory, Databricks).
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Redis).
• Knowledge of observability practices (logging, monitoring, tracing).
• IaC experience (Terraform).
• Asynchronous programming and building high-performance, scalable systems.
• Experience with Pytest; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• SQLAlchemy ORM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy)
• Build and maintain API-driven data processing and orchestration frameworks
• Implement asynchronous and concurrent processing using Python (asyncio)
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and integrations within cloud platforms (Azure)
• Work with data platforms such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
• Design robust data models, validation layers, and persistence mechanisms
• Ensure observability, logging, and monitoring for enterprise-grade systems
• Implement and maintain testing frameworks (Pytest, integration testing)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product teams
• Participate in code reviews and performance optimization initiatives
