Job summary

Kake, a remote-first, people-first global community of engineers, is seeking a Senior AI/LLM Engineer with strong Python to design, build, and productionize AI features.

You will work on LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and backend services (FastAPI), deploying in containerized environments and collaborating with distributed teams.

This full-time role offers USD compensation, fully remote work, and opportunities to impact products for brands worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and backend development with FastAPI or similar framework.
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic) and LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Hands-on with RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Docker experience and containerized development environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar data stores.
• Strong tests and evaluation of AI/LLM outputs; clear English comms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered features and applications using Python.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that expose AI capabilities.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector search.
• Iterate prompts, agents, and orchestration flows using LangChain/LlamaIndex.
• Integrate with LLM providers and manage tradeoffs around cost and latency.
• Evaluate model outputs and build tooling to test accuracy and safety.
• Work with Docker and data infrastructure to support production AI systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to turn needs into AI solutions.
