Job summary

Toku Pte Ltd is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build, deploy, and optimize real-world AI capabilities across NLP, speech-to-text, and LLM-driven features in production. You will combine hands-on model work with applied research, translating insights into practical improvements in live systems.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into backend services, ensure production readiness, and help shape product outcomes with a delivery mindset while exploring new techniques

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, or speech technologies in production contexts.
• Practical experience with Python-based AI development (e.g. PyTorch).
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector-based retrieval systems.
• Strong foundations in AI/ML fundamentals and related academic background.

Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve NLP, speech-to-text, and LLM-based models in production.
• Work with chatbots, summarisation, and language understanding features including RAG.
• Design and run model evaluations, benchmark approaches, and validate improvements before deployment.
