Job summary

QBE Insurance in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Property Risk Engineer to join our European Operations team. You will develop and deliver risk solutions for our European business, focusing on the Netherlands and Benelux, providing specialist property risk engineering support to inform underwriting decisions.

You will conduct site assessments, produce technical reports, evaluate exposures, and collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and clients to minimise loss and support profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience providing property risk engineering services within the insurance industry or a related risk consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection, loss prevention and business interruption concepts.
• Ability to deliver high-quality risk engineering reports to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex property risk engineering site assessments and produce detailed reports with recommendations.
• Evaluate fire, explosion, natural catastrophe and BI exposures across varied industries.
• Perform desktop risk assessments using broker submissions and client documentation.
• Deliver risk engineering services for multinational accounts and support best-practice implementation.
• Support underwriting with risk selection, reviews and technical referrals.
• Lead and participate in thought leadership through publications, presentations and training.
