Job summary

QBE Insurance in Amsterdam is seeking a Head of Property to lead and further develop the Property portfolio across the Netherlands. The role drives underwriting strategy, portfolio performance and team excellence, while strengthening market position for sustainable growth.

You will underwrite complex risks, develop annual plans, nurture stakeholder relationships, and ensure governance and data accuracy across EO systems. A strong leader with market insight is essential.

Qualifications

• Analytical and strategic thinking to steer a Property underwriting portfolio.
• Proven leadership and talent development of underwriting teams.
• Strong knowledge of Property underwriting frameworks and governance.
• Extensive market awareness of Property insurance dynamics and portfolio drivers.
• Experience with reinsurance structures and capital efficiency considerations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication with senior leadership and partners.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex Property risks in line with business plan and authority.
• Develop and deliver the annual Property portfolio plan in the Netherlands.
• Promote the department and company to maximise brand leverage.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, brokers and partners.
• Contribute to team business planning to maximise productivity and performance.
• Apply reinsurance requirements to minimize risk and meet objectives.
• Demonstrate market dynamics awareness to drive performance.
• Support data accuracy in underwriting systems and reporting.
