At Sytac, we build high-performing engineering teams for leading organizations. We combine a pragmatic, people-first culture with technical craftsmanship, giving engineers autonomy in real production environments.
For one of our key clients in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Lead Product Designer – Post-Booking Experience who can operate across the full design spectrum from North Star vision-setting down to pixel-perfect UI delivery. This is a high-visibility role within a mature, internationally oriented product design organisation, sitting at the intersection of user experience and commercial performance.
You’ll own the post-booking experience end to end: the hub passengers use to manage their trip after purchase, seat upgrades, baggage, lounge access, flight changes, and more. It’s a complex, multi-touchpoint platform where great design directly drives business results.
What you’ll do
- Own the post-booking experience (MyTrip) end to end, the management hub passengers rely on after purchase, covering extras, upgrades, changes, and self-service flows.
- Balance North Star vision-setting and strategic framing with incremental delivery and hands‑on UI execution, this is a full-stack design role.
- Drive conversion on commercial product flows (upsells, upgrades) as a key success metric you understand that great UX and business goals aren’t opposites.
- Contribute to and help mature a design system that is still evolving component thinking and UI rigour are essential.
- Work in an experiment‑driven environment: design for A/B testing, interpret data, and turn assumptions into ideation and validated solutions.
- Navigate a complex internal stakeholder landscape across multiple product and design teams, presenting and storytelling your work with confidence.
- Collaborate within a semi‑scrum product team alongside engineers, a Product Owner, and a lead designer.
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of product design experience, guideline, not a hard requirement; seniority and craft matter more than years.
- Strong e‑commerce or B2C background, ideally with non-linear, hub‑style platforms with many touchpoints and user flows.
- A commercial mindset you understand how to balance user needs with conversion goals and can speak that language to business stakeholders.
- Comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments and presenting design decisions with a clear narrative.
- Design systems experience and strong UI delivery skills, given the current maturity of the system, this is a significant plus.
- Comfortable interpreting data and working in an experiment‑driven, A/B testing culture."Lead" refers to seniority, not people management though mentorship ability is a valued plus.
- Dutch is not required; the team is internationally oriented.
Nice to have
- Experience with personalisation, designing adaptive flows based on user data and segmentation.
- User research and testing experience; a service designer is available to support.
- Airline or travel industry experience is a plus, though hub/platform complexity is what really counts.
- Agency background is preferred, candidates more likely to be available beyond the initial contract period are a strong fit.
