Job summary

Next Ventures in Utrecht, Netherlands, is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our DSI team. You will design, maintain, and evolve our modern platform infrastructure to support business-critical services and engineering teams.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in Kubernetes, GitOps, Linux infrastructure, and platform engineering practices, responsible for highly available environments, automation improvement, and reliability across the platform ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Kubernetes administration and operations experience.
• Experience implementing and operating GitOps delivery models; GitLab CI/CD tooling.
• Understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure integrations.
• Experience designing and supporting highly available environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capabilities.
• Experience with VMware infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise platform infrastructure.
• Manage Kubernetes environments and supporting platform components.
• Develop and optimise GitOps deployment models.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Administer Linux-based systems and services.
• Support networking integrations and platform connectivity.
• Perform incident investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
• Ensure platform security, resilience, and high availability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance deployment and operational processes.
• Support VMware-based infrastructure where required.
