Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Senior/Lead PHP Engineer in a flexible, remote-friendly role focused on Laravel-based backend development for an online car marketplace client's European and North American markets. You will own complex features end-to-end, mentor peers, and shape AI-driven automation within the product and internal workflows.

You’ll work with PHP/Laravel, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Docker, and cloud services while staying ahead of agentic AI trends to improve performance, security, and scalability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional PHP development experience.
• 4+ years building apps with Laravel (or strong Laravel proficiency).
• Solid database skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment (AWS/GCP).
• Hands-on GenAI experience with LLM APIs and tool/calling workflows.
• Strong English communication and independent problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP and Laravel.
• Own features end-to-end from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Integrate agentic AI workflows into products or internal tooling.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security across the stack.
• Stay current with PHP/Laravel and emerging AI tools and patterns.
