N-iX is seeking a PHP/Laravel developer to join a VAT recovery project for a global tax services client. The team is based in Braga, Portugal, with flexible options for remote or office work.

You will design, build, and maintain code for scalable tax software, collaborating in an environment that values performance, quality, and automation. The role requires 3+ years of PHP/Laravel experience, strong OO design, and experience with APIs, YAML/XML, and the LAMP stack.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial PHP/Laravel development experience.
• Finance domain knowledge or education is a plus.
• Strong PHP and Laravel framework knowledge.
• Solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
• Experience working with YAML and XML documents and files.
• Experience working with 3rd party APIs and web services.
• Git or other version control experience.
• Experience in Agile (SCRUM) environments.
• Good communication and teamwork.

About client:

Our client is an award-winning global tax services and software provider, is the largest Firm in the world dedicated exclusively to business taxes. The Firm provides an integrated suite of federal, state, local, and international tax services on a multijurisdictional basis, including tax recovery, consulting, advocacy, compliance, and technology services.

About the project:

A VAT recovery system for the customer's clients in European countries that would help to automate the regular work of VAT specialists at the company. The client team is located in Braga, Portugal.

Responsibilities:
