Job summary

Van Storm seeks an Engineer Systems Requirements in the Netherlands to capture and manage customer requirements for naval shipbuilding projects. You will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering and coordinate with the Principal Architect to define clear specifications for processes and products.

You will use DOORS and other tools to gather, analyze, and translate customer needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications, ensuring traceability and alignment with project

Qualifications

• BSc. or MSc. degree in Engineering with experience in Systems Engineering principles, particularly in Requirements Management
• Experience with System Engineering processes, deriving requirements from operational scenarios
• Strong logical thinking and proficiency with digital tools
• Project-based work ethic with ownership and reporting abilities
• Excellent command of English; German/Dutch advantageous

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, categorize, and break down customer requirements using a requirements management tool (e.g., DOORS) with traceability and detailed specifications
• Ensure requirements are clear, consistent, and resolve conflicts through proactive communication with project teams
• Organize and manage requirements for specific work packages, including outsourcing/subcontracting, and provide status reports to stakeholders
• Conduct systems verification activities to collect evidence of compliance
