Job summary

Middle Point is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – 2D Plans & Arrangements to join a leading naval shipbuilding project in the Netherlands. You will develop 2D functional engineering plans using General Arrangements as a basis, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, classification society rules and IMO conventions.

The role combines regulatory knowledge with engineering judgement and collaboration across disciplines, including basic calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
• Experience in shipbuilding engineering, plans and arrangements.
• Ability to interpret General Arrangements and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D engineering plans including fire safety and watertight integrity.
• Prepare design drawings based on General Arrangements and regulations.
• Develop safety and lifesaving arrangements and escape routes.
• Support deck arrangements and navigation equipment integration.
• Perform engineering calculations and justify design decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State and IMO requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
