Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer HVAC for Building Services in the Netherlands or Poland. You will lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems across diverse projects such as data centres, hospitals and offices, coordinating interfaces and guiding junior staff.

You will mentor graduates, coordinate design reviews, and engage with clients to align on design ambitions. A strong grounding in Dutch codes and sustainable practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree from an Engineering University (Building /Mechanical /Energy/ other relevant) or a relevant technical Diploma.
• 8+ years of professional experience into the design and delivery of mechanical services.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals including knowledge of Dutch codes and planning phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical services (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, water supply, firefighting, renewable energy systems and controls) and manage key interfaces in multidisciplinary projects and teams.
• Liaise with clients to assist in setting the design ambitions and with project stakeholders to develop the design and the coordination of the mechanical requirements and their impact on the project.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in site visits, client meetings, design reviews and project workshops, gaining valuable industry exposure.
