Job summary

Qblox in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to tackle complex mechanical challenges in support of quantum control hardware. You will lead development, ensure tight integration with electronic products and PCB assemblies, and drive manufacturability and reliability.

You will perform advanced simulations (FEA, CFD), verify designs through prototyping and testing, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with global teams across the Netherlands and the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience with quantum control/readout hardware or high-end instrumentation.
• Proven track record in mechanical design for electronic products and PCB assemblies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Development: Lead the development, optimization, and implementation of mechanical solutions for electronic products and PCB assemblies.
• Design Complex Assemblies: Design mechanical components, assemblies, enclosures, heatsinks, and RF shields with a strict focus on manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform Advanced Simulations: Perform mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis and simulations (FEA, CFD, thermal management, and EMI/RF shielding considerations).
• Verify & Validate: Execute design verification, prototyping, hands-on testing, and validation of mechanical designs throughout the product development lifecycle.
