Job summary

Fuji Seal Europe is seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to design, develop and industrialize mechanical subsystems for high‑tech machines, translating customer and product requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions from concept to production release.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment, own subsystem architecture and technical decisions, lead design reviews, support prototypes and verification activities, and ensure compliance with CE /

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Fluent in Dutch.
• 7–12+ years in machine building or mechatronics for senior level.
• Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks), GD&T and basic CAE/FEA.
• Experience with DFMEA, verification planning and CE/Machinery Directive documentation.
• Experience in technical leadership or mentoring (plus).

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and product requirements into mechanical concepts, architectures and specifications, taking ownership of subsystem design strategy and key technical decisions.
• Design, develop, and industrialize mechanical subsystems from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Perform mechanical analyses including strength, stiffness, lifetime, manufacturability, assembly and serviceability.
• Own and maintain DFMEA and risk files (NVH, wear, safety).
• Lead design reviews with data-driven decisions.
• Support prototype builds, verification & validation, and FAT testing.
• Manage ECR/ECO, configuration management and version control.
• Deliver compliant design packages for procurement and manufacturing per CE/Machinery Directive.
• Drive manufacturability and cost optimization through cross-functional collaboration with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Electrical & Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service teams.
• Mentor junior/medior engineers and coordinate external partners.
• Advise project management on scope, planning, dependencies, and risk.
