Job summary

Loop Earplugs is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to own the design of subassemblies from concept through mass production for high-volume consumer products. You’ll master tolerances, material choices, and CMF considerations while coordinating with contract manufacturers and ODMs to ensure producibility.

You’ll lead design reviews, run EVT/DVT/PVT builds, and drive ECOs in Arena, with Onshape as your core CAD tool.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing injection-moulded parts for high-volume consumer products.
• Experience taking parts through mass production.
• Own component-level mechanical design.
• Balance performance, cost, robustness and manufacturability.
• Familiar with EVT, DVT and PVT processes.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design for assigned subassemblies from concept through mass production.
• Conduct design reviews and lead tolerance analysis.
• Execute EVT, DVT and PVT builds, analyse test failures, and iterate.
• Partner with CMs and ODMs on DFM reviews, tooling, Golden Sample alignment and production readiness.
• Author and own 2D drawings and specifications.
• Drive ECOs, drawing releases and change control in Arena.
• Finalise part designs for the components you own, selecting materials, finishes and part construction with input from Sourcing and the CM.
• Approve drawing releases for BOM-level parts and communicate clearly across engineering, sourcing and manufacturing partners.
• Work in Onshape as our core mechanical CAD environment.
