Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Groningen, Netherlands, to join our Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you will drive the development of innovative appliances, from concept to mass production, focusing on design, testing, and documentation of mechanical modules.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in mechanical product development. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and lead projects to improve processes.

Overview

Job Description As a Mechanical Engineer within our Mechanical Engineering team, you will drive the development of innovative appliances—from initial concept through to mass production. You will design, implement, test, and document mechanical modules and components, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including system engineers, designers, and manufacturing specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and detailing mechanical components and systems, conducting predictive analysis and calculations.
  • Selecting appropriate materials and processes for metal and plastic parts.
  • Creating and managing 3D/2D files with a focus on manufacturability and assembly.
  • Leading DFMEA activities and following the v-model methodology.
  • Prototyping, testing, and analyzing data to validate designs.
  • Developing new test methods and tools in collaboration with technical architects.
  • Managing product requirements and documentation, including archiving in Windchill.
  • Leading ideation sessions, driving concept creation, and supporting decision-making.
  • Interfacing with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Identifying process improvements and sharing knowledge within the group.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical product development for mass production.
  • Proven track record in international, multidisciplinary project environments (preferably B2C).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX and/or CREO).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design in plastics and metals, including mass manufacturability.
  • Experience with CFD analysis, FEA (Ansys), and analytical software.
  • Skilled in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Quality-driven, with experience in Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt is a plus).
  • Ability to document requirements, tests, and designs clearly.
  • Hands-on, proactive team player with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance innovation with practical realization and make independent decisions.
