Job summary

Loop is seeking a Freelance Product Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of subassemblies for mass-produced consumer products. You’ll work closely with Electrical Engineering, Sourcing and contract manufacturers to deliver robust, manufacturable parts in high volume.

Based in Europe with options to be Antwerp or Amsterdam, this hybrid role requires 5+ years of injection-moulded design experience, DFM leadership, and hands-on CAD with Onshape.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing injection-moulded parts for high-volume consumer products, with at least one taken through mass production.
• Strong fundamentals in tolerances, stack-ups, material selection and CMF understanding.
• Hands-on experience with small hardware moulding processes and tooling constraints.
• Experience working with CMs and ODMs through tooling, build, validation and ramp.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design for assigned subassemblies from concept through mass production.
• Lead DFM reviews, tolerance analysis and EVT/DVT/PVT builds.
• Collaborate with CMs and ODMs on tooling, sampling and production readiness.
• Author and own 2D drawings and specifications; manage ECOs in Arena.
