Job summary

Mimica is hiring a Lead/Staff-level engineer to own and evolve backend systems interfacing with ML models. You will build core components of our ML stack, deploy new AI features, and shape infrastructure and services across teams.

You will join the Python Chapter, mentor peers, and influence architectural decisions while delivering robust, scalable software in a fully remote, international context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a Software Engineer with Lead/Staff level responsibilities.
• Strong Python proficiency and backend engineering background.
• Experience with async/concurrent programming and scalable architectures.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and raise coding standards.
• Experience owning projects end-to-end from spec to monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Write Python applications in a service-oriented architecture.
• Mentor teammates to improve code quality and testing practices.
• Develop observability for ML apps and GenAI integrations (Grafana stack).
• Build integrations with Google services and internal data systems.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers across production lifecycle.
• Triage incidents and optimize CPU/memory/GPU usage.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
