Mimica is an AI-powered process intelligence platform hiring a senior backend engineer to join our remote-first team. You’ll design and scale the backend (MERN stack), build robust APIs, and own performance and reliability across services.

In this early engineering role you’ll shape our technical direction, collaborate across teams, implement scalable architectures, and mentor peers while delivering impact for global customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and backend development.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes to build high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Experience designing APIs and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of microservices, load balancing, caching, scaling and stateless architectures.
• Commitment to high engineering standards, maintainability and security.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Fluency in English with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions and cross-team improvements.
• Develop and optimize a real-time backend service for multi-user graph editing and AI model retraining.
• Build APIs and libraries in Node.js to interact with ML components.
• Diagnose fault-tolerance, availability issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Refactor components and produce documentation for implementations.
• Provide feedback through pair programming and code reviews.
