Job summary

NES Fircroft Ltd seeks an experienced Layout & Piping Engineering Manager in Rotterdam for a major brownfield energy project. You will act as the client-side technical lead, coordinating with EPCM, site teams and international stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and efficient design solutions.

You will lead technical design reviews, oversee piping layouts and interfaces, and drive constructability and maintainability across disciplines while managing risks and scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant Layout & Piping Engineering experience in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, energy or complex facilities.
• Proven experience on large brownfield capital projects.
• Experience within EPC/EPCM environments, preferably Owner/Client perspective.
• Strong experience with plant layout, piping systems, utilities and brownfield tie-ins.
• Experience reviewing and challenging EPCM contractor engineering.
• Strong understanding of constructability, operability and maintenance requirements.
• Experience at operational industrial sites with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Layout & Piping throughout the project.
• Review/Evaluate EPCM engineering designs and deliverables.
• Oversee plant layout, piping design, routing and equipment interfaces.
• Manage brownfield interfaces and tie-ins between existing and new facilities.
• Review piping specifications, layouts and 3D models.
• Monitor engineering quality, scope, progress and risk.
• Ensure constructability, operability and maintainability in design.
• Coordinate input from operations, maintenance and site stakeholders.
• Support procurement/technical evaluations and site activities.
• Resolve piping and layout issues with EPCM contractor.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, HSE and site standards.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and I&E disciplines.
