Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer based in the Netherlands to design, operate, and evolve Kubernetes platforms at scale for production environments.

You will work across platform engineering, observability, security, and developer enablement, shaping roadmaps and hands-on implementations. This role is fully remote with international collaboration across teams and projects.

Qualifications

• Multiple years in DevOps/platform engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year hands-on Kubernetes production experience with cluster lifecycle and core components.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Helm for automation.
• Hands-on with OKD/OpenShift.
• Proven CI/CD and GitOps design, preferably ArgoCD.
• Programming/scripting in Go, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for observability.
• Knowledge of SLI/SLO design and reliability engineering principles.
• Understanding security standards and compliance in infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, maintain, and evolve Kubernetes-based platforms at production scale.
• Manage cluster lifecycles, ingress, service meshes, and related components.
• Develop and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize configurations.
• Work with OKD/OpenShift to deliver reliable infrastructures.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Helm.
• Design and operate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
• Develop tooling in Go, Python, or Bash for automation.
• Enhance observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Implement SLI/SLO frameworks to improve reliability and visibility.
• Apply security and compliance requirements to architectures.
• Collaborate across international teams on roadmaps and improvements.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
• Create platform documentation and runbooks.

Accountabilities

• Design, operate, maintain, and evolve Kubernetes-based platforms forproduction environmentsat scale.

• Manage Kubernetes clusterlifecycles, ingress controllers, service meshes, cert-manager, and relatedplatform components.

• Develop and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize configurationsfor repeatable platformdeployments.

• Work extensively with OKD/OpenShift and platform technologies to deliver reliable infrastructuresolutions.

• Automate platform provisioningand configuration usingTerraform and Helm.

• Design and operateCI/CD pipelinesand GitOps workflows, including ArgoCD-baseddeployment models.

• Develop automation andplatform tooling usingGo, Python, and/or Bash.

• Build and improveobservability solutionsusing Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Design and implement SLI/SLO frameworks for distributed systems, helping improve reliability and operational visibility.

• Integrate security standards, compliance requirements, and platform securitybest practices intoinfrastructure architectures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams on technical initiatives, platform roadmaps, and infrastructure improvements.

• Mentor colleagues, contributeto technical knowledgesharing, and supportthe continuous improvementof engineering practices.

• Create and maintain platform documentation, including architecture decision records, runbooks,and technical designmaterials.

Requirements

• Several years ofprofessional experiencein DevOps, platformengineering, infrastructure, or a closelyrelated discipline.

• At least1 year ofhands-on, dailyproduction experience withKubernetes, including clusterlifecycle management andcore platform components.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform and Helm for infrastructure automation and configuration management.

• Hands-on experiencewith OKD orOpenShift.

• Proven experience designingand operating CI/CD pipelines andGitOps workflows, ideallyusing ArgoCD.

• Strong programming orscripting capabilitiesin Go, Python, and/or Bash.

• Solid knowledge ofPrometheus, Grafana, andOpenTelemetry, with experienceapplying observabilitypractices to distributedsystems.

• Experience with SLI/SLO design andreliability engineeringprinciples.

• Understanding of security standards,platform security practices, and integrating compliancerequirements into infrastructurearchitectures.

• Strong communication andpresentation skills, withthe ability tocollaborate effectivelyacross technical andcross-functional teams.

• Demonstrated mentoring experienceor a willingnessto contribute tothe technical developmentof colleagues.
